Oregon Tenants Deserve Basic Privacy Protections

When you rent a home in Oregon, you share deeply personal information with your landlord: social security numbers, bank account details, income information, immigration status, disability information, and more.

But Oregon has no law protecting that data from disclosure.

HB 4123 would change that by establishing basic confidentiality protections for tenant information. This common-sense bill:

  • Prevents disclosure of tenant information without written consent
  • Protects immigrant families, domestic violence survivors, people with disabilities, and all renters
  • Shared info can still be used for credit checks and background checks
  • Provides legal clarity for landlords and property managers
  • Has zero fiscal impact

Tell your legislators to support HB 4123 and protect tenant privacy.
