Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act
Do you care about clean air and clean water? Don’t want AI data centers in your backyard? Do you want access to outdoor spaces that are safe for your kids to play in? Then take action on environmental deregulation!
The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), a state and local rights law ‘giving decision making rights on local projects to the smaller local governments’ and our other environmental laws are under attack, including the Clean Water Act (CWA), National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), and Endangered Species Act (ESA). These laws require the government to report on the environmental impacts of infrastructure projects (like data centers), allow communities, Tribal Nations, and the public to review those impacts and provide comments before the local government makes its decision, protect our waterways and endangered species, and so much more.
Right now, Senators have released yet another dirty deal, disguised as the "Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act" that will weaken these laws our local communities depend on. As AI data centers are on the rise, this bill will only make it easier to build polluting data centers and fossil fuel infrastructure to power them while WE live with the cost.
Write your members of Congress and tell them to vote NO on any dirty permitting reform deal.
