Tell Your Governor: Protect consumers. Ban surveillance pricing.

States like New York, New Jersey, Illinois, and Colorado are all considering bills to protect consumers from surveillance pricing. But tech and business lobbying groups with ties to Google, Amazon, Target, Instacart, Uber, McDonalds, Airbnb, and more are opposing these bills.

Industry groups are wining and dining state lawmakers, and using scare tactics around loyalty programs and senior discounts to convince states to water down bills and let multinational corporations off the hook.

In Maryland, a new surveillance pricing law was riddled with loopholes with entire sections written by corporate lobbyists. Don’t let this become the model nationwide! Don’t let corporate lobbyists write the rules around surveillance pricing.

Write to your governor right now and urge immediate passage of legislation to protect consumers from price gouging, and reject loopholes championed by greedy multinational corporations.
