REINSTATE Shayma Alzubi

Fort Worth ISD's state-appointed administration has reassigned principal candidate Shayma Alzubi after far-right Christian nationalists launched an Islamophobic attack campaign against her on social media.

Within hours, the TEA takeover administration reassigned her "pending investigation"

This is nothing less than political persecution.

The email from FWISD Chief of Staff Dr. Louis Kushner cites "social media policy" but review of the policy does not indicate any violations. This is clearly capitulation to an organized far-right campaign filled with dehumanizing rhetoric against the Muslim community.

This is what state takeovers enable.

When Commissioner Mike Morath and Governor Abbott strip communities of elected school boards, they hand power to appointees who answer to political operatives - not parents, teachers, or students they serve.

Alzubi didn't violate any law. She exercised her First Amendment rights as a private citizen. Her social media activity shows exactly what we WANT in school leaders:

*Commitment to public health

*Support for racial justice

*Engagement with current events

The real question: Why does the TEA takeover administration believe Islamophobic harassment should determine who leads our schools? And why would they seek to silence an individual who demonstrates the critical thinking we want our students to be able to do for themselves?
