For Working Parents Everywhere: Reject AB-22

California's already weak child care system is at risk of being destroyed by AB-22, which will replace full-day, full-time subsidized preschool spots part-day, part-year Transitional Kindergarten spots. The bill will bankrupt thousands of childcare programs and tens of thousands of teacher livelihoods, leaving less care for California families.

It's time to act.

The bill will:

  1. Defund preschools providing spots to low-income working families. Full-day, full-year subsidy spots will be replaced with part-day, part-year care only served by public schools
  2. Replace those spots with inappropriate care. Kindergarten desks and buses are not appropriate for 3 and 4 year-olds.
  3. Destruct California's care system. The bill will put child cares statewide out of business forever.

Please take 60 seconds to sign letters to your legislators, then call their office and let them know that they can't let this bill move forward. Find their number and email address here.

Thanks for all you do for young children,
