Response to the inaction on library expansion
We are very dismayed to learn that, despite the recommendations of the Tacoma Public Library Eastside and Hilltop Feasibility Study and the Tacoma Facility Advisory Committee, there will be no attempt to fund library branch restoration in the long-neglected and underserved Hilltop or Eastside neighborhoods. While there have been positive comments made in recent City Council meetings, we must continue to hold the City Council, Mayor, and Library Board of Trustees accountable to meet the library service needs of these communities. We cannot allow further neglect of these neighborhoods!
To that end, please add your own spin to the Hilltop Library Planning Committee’s action letter, sign, and send often until we see concrete results. The more personal you make it, the more likely it will achieve results. And remember to forward the link to all your friends, family, and social media followers. You don’t have to live in Tacoma to sign! As always, thank you for your support!
