Restore Legal Services for Unaccompanied Children

The rights of children are under direct attack. The Acacia Center for Justice received a near-total shutdown order for our unaccompanied kids program on Friday, March 21st.

This means the Trump administration has abruptly slashed legal services for unaccompanied children, completely terminating funding for legal counsel for 26,000 children. This will force thousands of children, some too young to read or write, to represent themselves alone in court before an immigration judge and against a trained government lawyer.

As the administration plans to ramp up the deportation and detention of children, we must take a stand to defend vulnerable kids. The Unaccompanied Children Program is essential to making sure that vulnerable children are not alone, and have the legal representation and support they need to remain safe in their communities and government custody. Contact your members of Congress and demand that they take action to defend this life-saving program.
