Protect Legal Services for Unaccompanied Children

The Trump administration is trying to take away legal representation from over 20,000 children.

The administration has refused to pay nonprofit legal services providers for their work, and is set to fully defund the program. Without action, tens of thousands of children could lose their lawyers and face deportation, alone.

Unaccompanied children arrive in the U.S. without a parent or legal guardian, often fleeing violence, trafficking, abuse, or persecution. Some are too young to read or write. Without nonprofit legal services, they would be expected to appear in court alone: before a judge and against a trained government attorney.

Now is the time to act.
