Rodeo Ban
The Padres have announced their 3rd annual rodeo at Petco Park — despite the fact that animals have suffered and died at both of the past two events. In 2024, a terrified horse crashed head-first into a steel railing. In 2025, an almost 11-months-pregnant horse named "Pearl Necklace", just days from giving birth, was forced to buck, collapsed afterward, and died. These tragedies are not accidents — they are the inevitable result of a cruel spectacle that prioritizes entertainment over animal welfare. Hosting such events normalizes violence toward animals in our community. Petco Park should be a place for sports and family fun, not a stage for animal abuse.
Please take action to end rodeo animal cruelty by supporting a ban on rodeos in San Diego. Let the mayor, the city council, and the San Diego Padres know you stand against this practice.
