Safeguard Al Aqaba & Remove Settler Outposts in West Bank
After the tragic killing of the young man from Tayasir on April 8th, the illegal settler outpost in Al Aqaba was initially removed. Since then, outposts have been reestablished in the village and removed several times, but as of May 27th, the latest outpost remains standing on village land. The village has been very vigilant in reporting all the illegal outposts to the Israeli police. U.S. Embassy engagement means that the Govt. of Israel has taken some action on removal, but the settlers continue to encroach on Al Aqaba’s privately owned land, creating an extremely dangerous situation.
Because there are nearly 200 settler outposts in the West Bank, the actions taken in Al Aqaba that have had some success must be replicated at scale, as this crisis is only escalating since the start of 2026. Communities throughout the West Bank are experiencing daily attacks from these outposts, and many communities have already been forcibly displaced. The U.S. Embassy must build on the successful outpost removal in Al Aqaba and press for the final removal of the outpost, as well as more outposts in the West Bank. Hearing from Congress can bolster their ask.
Ask your Senators and Representative to call Ambassador Huckabee to press the Government of Israel to immediately take action to remove these Israeli settler outposts in the West Bank.
