Amidst ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip and regional attacks on Lebanon, the situation in the Israeli-occupied West Bank has reached alarming new heights of violence.

Armed settlers, emboldened by the Israeli military and government, have escalated attacks against Palestinians, displacing entire communities and committing acts of terror. The Israeli military has also stepped up attacks, including the first use of bomber jets in the West Bank since the Second Intifada.

While Canada has taken initial steps by sanctioning a few extremist settlers and groups, these efforts are grossly insufficient. To make a real impact, Canada must hold the Israeli government and its enablers accountable for their role in this violence.

We are calling on you to take action by sending a letter to Prime Minister Trudeau, Foreign Minister Joly, your Member of Parliament (MP) and other key MPs, urging them to expand sanctions to include high-level Israeli officials and organizations that provide the financial and operational support for settler violence. With your voice, we can push for a stronger, more principled stance from Canada on human rights in Palestine.
