Save our Communities
The City of Sydney, along with 22 other metropolitan councils, have launched a campaign demanding the NSW Government abandon its plan to divert local government funds into State revenue.
We rely on council to deliver essential facilities and infrastructure that services new developments. This is largely funded by levies on property developers.
But the NSW Government wants to take a large part of this funding and divert it into an opaque regional fund, with no plan or transparency on where or how the money will be spent. Under the changes, which are backed by the Property Council, local levies would be set at a fixed dollar amount, rather than a percentage rate based on cost.
Send a letter to the Premier and Planning Minister and demand money for community infrastructure be left in community hands.
