Save Our LCC Health Clinic

On Tuesday, April 25th, the College announced that it was closing the LCC Health Clinic due to a recurring deficit of approximately $260,000 annually. We are launching an email campaign to be carried out by the Classified Professionals of LCCEF, the Faculty of LCC, and the Lane Student Government Association of ASLCC.

Also, on Wednesday, May 17th, 2023, the Board of Education will hold a Special Meeting before the previously scheduled Work Session. We will keep you all posted on the location that is chosen for the meeting. While Work Sessions do not allow public comment, we want to pack the room with supporters to save the clinic.

In addition, LCCEA is concerned that the clinic is proposed for closure at a time when HB 2002 is making its way through the legislature. HB 2002 affirms and expands critically important reproductive care and gender affirming care rights. HB 2002 also has $1.6M in earmarked funding for campus health clinics, and expressly includes the LCC health clinic in the earmarked funding. The bill is supported by Oregon legislators from Lane County, including four who sponsored the bill: Representatives Fahey and Holvey and Senators Manning and Prozanski.

We believe that this clinic is a vital resource for the health and well-being of the LCC community, and we hope that you will support us in our efforts to keep it open.
