Save School Based Youth Services Programs

It is a well known fact that some of the most economically depressed and disadvantaged communities are less likely to have access to mental health resources, less likely to use community mental health services, and much more likely to receive low quality care. Cutting the School Based Youth Services Programs (SBYSPs) from the proposed budget very literally rips resources from kids that already have a lack of resources. SBYSP provides counseling, substance abuse education and prevention, employment counseling, health awareness, and linkage to other supports are available to students at no cost. In sending this letter, you are helping fight to keep this program open for all of those kids that may need it, and may very literally not have access to these resources any other way. Please take a moment to send this pre-written letter demanding Governor Murphy to restore funding to all the School Based Youth Services Programs throughout New Jersey.
