Amidst the longest Government shutdown in American history, President Donald Trump has hit a new low by trying to fight court orders to keep SNAP benefits flowing through November for millions of Americans.

As the shutdown has dragged on more painfully than The Walking Dead franchise, funding for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) has gradually run out. The administration has had the chance to tap reserve funds to keep the program going through the month of November but has refused to do so. Trump chose instead to hold a Great Gatsby-themed party hours before this funding ended for the 41 million Americans on SNAP.

A Judge then ordered the Administration to restore SNAP funding, to which the Administration has responded by bringing the case all the way to the Supreme Court.

This is a matter of 41 million Americans going hungry; millions of families having to skip meals or cut back on essential expenses to get by; parents having to explain to their kids that they can't afford dinner and children going to bed hungry. The actions by Donald Trump, his sycophant Administration, and his remaining supporters have been absolutely abhorrent, and they must end as soon as possible before more lives are destroyed.
