Save Some Trees
For the love of trees! Please help us preserve heritage trees on Lot 4 in Santa Cruz, CA
Many heritage trees, including majestic liquidambars and magnolia trees, currently grow on the 1.55-acre Lot 4 parcel in Santa Cruz. Lot 4 is the current location of the downtown Farmer’s Market but will eventually be the location of the Downtown Library, Garage & Affordable Housing Project. The current project plan includes cutting down all the heritage trees on the lot.
The heritage trees on Lot 4 are beloved by the Santa Cruz community for their stature, grace, beauty, history, and environmental benefits. They have provided generations of Santa Cruzans majesty and shade during the hottest times of year and glorious color with the passing seasons.
Please request that the Santa Cruz City Council direct the
architects to modify their design to incorporate as many of the
heritage trees as possible into the Downtown Library, Garage &
Affordable Housing Project.
