The Trump administration has canceled the Lava Ridge Wind Project in Idaho, a 1 gigawatt development that would have powered more than 750,000 homes for a full year. This project had already been approved after years of environmental review and was scaled back to protect the historic Minidoka site.

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum’s decision to revoke that approval is part of a larger strategy to slow or kill renewable energy development nationwide.
