Say No to Third Future Schools!
On Tuesday, February 17, the San Antonio ISD board voted to authorize Superintendent Jaime Aquino to move forward with negotiations of a potential 1882 partnership with
Third Future Schools at 3 San Antonio ISD campuses. Originally, meetings were scheduled with Hirsch, Herff, and Rhodes. What we know now is that the SAISD school board is proposing to close Rhodes Middle School, relocate those students to Taffola, and allow Third Future Schools to run Tafolla Middle School, Ogden Elementary, and Hirsch Elementary.

Third Future Schools typically have longer school days, no athletics, band, or other electives during the day. They are known to have high turnover of both teachers and principals, and are governed by an unelected board with NO ties to our SAISD communities!
Additionally, if a teacher wants to stay at their campus, they have to resign from SAISD and apply for a position at Third Future. If they are hired, they become an at-will employee with Third Future.
Tell the SAISD school board that our schools belong to our communities!
