SB 79 promised homes near transit across SoCal. Tell SCAG not to mess it up!

The body in charge of mapping the stations across Southern California that qualify under SB 79 is violating the law — and if we don't push back, thousands of homes near transit won't get built.

Tell them to follow the law and fix the maps before it's too late!

SB 79 was designed to allow more housing around high-quality transit stops across the region. But the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), the regional planning body responsible for mapping those transit stops, is adding criteria the law doesn't allow — and in doing so, it excludes many qualifying transit stops from the map entirely.

The result will be confusion, legal fights, and fewer homes near the high quality transit infrastructure we've already built or planned. That's the opposite of what the law was designed to do.
