Tell Mayor Breed and your Supervisor: Fund Municipal Housing for All NOW!

The federal government’s classist and racist defunding of HUD public housing has directly led to more homelessness and worsened our housing crisis. It is time for San Francisco to join other major cities around the world — including Vienna, Austria and Singapore — in producing high-quality Municipal Housing for All.

SF voters approved Prop K in Nov 2020 with 73.5% of the vote, which legally authorized a pilot program for municipal housing. Voters also passed the Prop I transfer tax, half of which was intended to fund social housing — including a municipal housing pilot.

However, Mayor London Breed has not yet acknowledged the will of the voters to create municipal housing. The Mayor decides most of the budget and oversees the executive branch, and so we need your support to ensure Mayor Breed works with the Board of Supervisors to deliver on this voter mandate.
