SFUSD Make it Right!
Amid a challenging year, educators weren't aware we had to add tax experts and pay warriors to the job description. For months we have been dealing with the empower transition disaster. We need the school board to do the right thing around the deferred net pay fiasco and help district management implement a clear roadmap that cleans up this mess and makes it right!
Please take a moment to send a letter telling SFUSD to do the following now:
- Move the agreed-upon November payment of $2,000 to the July check.
- Partner with an outside organization to set up a loan program for educators who need financial assistance to offset the lower July paycheck.
- Provide a one-time $3,000 additional compensation separate from the previously agreed upon June and November stipends for all certificated members impacted by deferred net pay to ensure all educators have a check in July that allows them to take care of themselves and their families. This one-time compensation should come from SFUSD's rainy day fund.
- Create easily accessible ways for educators to engage with the paycheck issues and fixes.
- Provide one in-person financial consultation for all educators at no cost to us to provide a 1-to-1 tax/financial consultation with a fiduciary.
