Tell AGs: Shut Down Trump’s Prescription Drug Scam Now
TrumpRx is being sold to the public as a breakthrough on prescription drug prices. The reality is very different. The website can steer patients toward expensive brand-name drugs even when cheaper generics are widely available.
Senator Elizabeth Warren exposed the numbers. TrumpRx lists Protonix for $200, while the generic version can cost $16 at Costco. It lists Tikosyn for $336, while the generic can cost $12 through Cost Plus Drugs. Warren warned that people using TrumpRx have “a better than one out of four chance of paying more.”
TrumpRx does not cap out-of-pocket costs, expand coverage, force Big Pharma to lower prices, or meaningfully fix the prescription drug crisis. It is a Trump-branded website that benefits drug companies while leaving patients to navigate confusing prices and misleading claims.
Attorneys General exist to protect the public from scams, fraud, false advertising, and deceptive business practices. If TrumpRx is misleading patients into believing they are getting lower prices when cheaper options exist elsewhere, AGs must investigate immediately.
