Sign A3523-A into Law

There are 33 states in America that have a license for Behavior Analysts. New York is the only state that restricts the license for Behavior Analysts to one diagnosis. Since 2014, NY Licensed Behavior Analysts have only worked with individuals who have autism. This has caused a provider shortage in NY, so much so that the autism population cannot be served. Bills A3523-A and S1662-B that remove the restriction on the license for Behavior Analysts have passed the Assembly and the Senate.

Even though this bill has passed the Assembly and the Senate, we are now facing opposition and concern related to the bill becoming law. We are confident that our letters reached Governor Cuomo and are on file, but with this new opposition, we need to make sure our letters reach the new Governor. We are asking you to send this letter to Governor Hochul to ask her to sign the bill into law so that Behavior Analysts can work with the breadth of individuals they are educated and trained to work with.
