The California Fair Elections Act (SB 42) is in committee right now, and if it dies here, voters won’t even get to decide.

California is up next: The California Fair Elections Act, SB 42, will put a measure on the November 2026 ballot. It will let voters decide to repeal the ban on public financing of campaigns so any local government — the state itself — can amplify the voices of everyday voters and ensure elections are won, not bought!
