Single Stair - Bill H8002
Bill H8002 (Speakman, Cortvriend, Diaz, Giraldo, Voas) allows residential buildings to be constructed with a single staircase under certain comprehensive safety conditions, making it easier to build larger and more light-filled units on a smaller parcels of land. Similar changes already have a successful track record in states such as New Hampshire, Maine, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. In fact, many of these states allow single-stair construction up to six stories.
