Stand with Camden Activists: Wasim Muhammad Resign as School Board President

South Jersey Progressive Democrats stand with Camden residents and grassroots activists who are calling for the resignation of Camden School Board President Wasim Muhammad.
Wasim Muhammad has cost the city of Camden $2 million in settlement costs for his sexual misconduct towards a former student while she was still a child. It is unconscionable that a man who has faced these allegations of sexual misconduct would remain in this position of power. Camden residents are rightfully concerned about the safety of their schools and children with this man at the helm of their school board.
The Governor has called on Muhammad to step down but he has refused. All the other members of the school board have failed to take action. From Mayor Vic Carstarphen as well as county and state elected officials who are supposed to represent the people of Camden, we have heard only deafening silence. This is unacceptable.
Please join us in sending a message to state, county, and local power holders, as well as the rest of the Camden BOE, to urge them to oust Wasim Muhammad from the role of Board President.
