Stand with Educators: Demand a Fair Contract

UPDATE February 18, 2025:

The union of educators at El Camino Real Charter High School (ECR-UTLA) voted 97% YES on Monday, February 17, 20205, to ratify a new contract agreement and end their strike, after a week where educators, parents, students, alumni, and other community members were out together on the picket line — a few of those days in the pouring rain. The ECR-UTLA bargaining team, made up of several educators from the school, reached a tentative agreement with ECR management on Sunday night.

El Camino Real Charter High School educators are fighting for fair wages, long-term stability, and a commitment to the future of our students. But instead of making real investments in their staff, El Camino Real’s Board is pushing costly short-term bonuses while refusing to secure lasting salary improvements.

We proposed a responsible solution—one that costs less than the ECR Board’s plan while ensuring fair raises over time.

ECRA rejected it. They would rather gamble with temporary fixes than invest in the future of this school.

With $33 million in reserves, ECRA has the means to support its educators. The only thing missing is the will.

We are standing together because we know our worth. Join us in demanding that ECRA commit to real, long-term salary improvements.

We need parents and community members to stand with us in this critical fight. Send a letter to the Board of Directors now and demand they end the strike by giving educators a fair contract now.
