Background:

Sudan has been experiencing a severe humanitarian crisis since 2023. The international community is abandoning the people of Sudan and they need your voice.

The United States has the chance and must act now. We are asking for U.S. collaboration with other nations and great powers, including Canada, to organize events and discussions towards concrete action and mobilization on Sudan. The following statistics are offered not to reduce the people of Sudan to numbers, but to emphasize the severity of the crisis.

The ongoing crisis is marked by an unaddressed genocide in Darfur, confirmed genocidal violence in El Obeid, and a brutal war on civilians that has forced over 14 million people from their homes, including over 9 million internally displaced persons (IDPs). Famine conditions in parts of Sudan have been confirmed with vulnerable populations at risk across the region. 24+ million people face acute food insecurity and close to 1 million children face severe acute malnutrition in 2026. Women and girls face constant threats of brutal sexual violence, while abductions, forced disappearances, illegal imprisonments, and forced marriages continue unabated. DWAG’s own staff and community are directly impacted as safety dwindles. Both domestic and regional displacement camps are completely overwhelmed, desperately needing urgent medical supplies and psychological support for survivors as most health facilities are closing amid critical funding shortages. 30+ million people need urgent humanitarian assistance and 21 million people need critical healthcare assistance. Powered by military backing from the UAE and other state sponsors, drone attacks and atrocities in the Blue Nile and Al Geneina are escalating exponentially—making immediate U.S. intervention for accountability and justice absolutely non-negotiable.
