Tell Your Lawmaker: Support One-time Rental Assistance

🎉🎉 Three important housing bills that Neighbors for More Neighbors are supporting have been introduced at the State Capitol and are moving through the legislative process.

One-time Emergency Rental Assistance (HF 3403 / SF 3596) has advanced in the Senate and was considered on the Senate Floor on Wednesday, March 11. If successful, the bill will need to pass the House. The bill provides $40 million in one-time rental assistance to counties and tribes to cover rent for low-income families facing eviction.

Minnesota has been in the national spotlight these last few months as Operation Metro Surge came to our state, and the harm is still being felt. Families are struggling to pay rent, with multiple reports indicating that Minnesotans are tens of millions of dollars behind on rent payments. This happened because businesses closed, construction slowed down, and people changed their lives to stay safe.

But now rent is due, and our neighbors face losing their homes and being thrown out into the streets.

Email your elected officials below to ask them to support rental assistance.
