Tell MD Attorney General Brian Frosh - Don't Represent Governor in Lawsuit by Unemployed!

On Juneteenth, Our Revolution Maryland stood shoulder-to-shoulder with unemployed Marylanders in Annapolis. We demanded that Governor Hogan reverse his decision to end federal unemployment benefits prematurely on July 3rd. Because of Hogan's intransigence and the General Assembly's failure to challenge him, impacted Marylanders have filed a class action lawsuit to stop Hogan.

Hogan is asking Maryland's Democratic Attorney General Brian Frosh to defend his reprehensible action. We urge you to tell the Attorney General that he should refuse to defend Governor Hogan because his decision will lead directly to:

  1. Thousands of evictions and newly homeless families with children suffering worst of all.
  2. A medical crisis resulting from the inability of the unemployed to pay for needed medications and treatment.
  3. An increase in food and water insecurity.
  4. The loss of millions to Maryland's economy.

Governor Hogan's decision was driven by the request of low-paying Maryland corporations which would prefer to force Maryland workers into accepting starvation wages rather than pay them a fair salary. It has not legal basis.

The Attorney General is not bound by any law or precedent to defend an indefensible action by the Governor. Please urge Democrat Brian Frosh to say no to right-wing Republican Larry Hogan!
