Tell Congress: Stop Anti-Voter Bills

It's already illegal for noncitizens to register and vote in federal or state elections. Requiring documentary proof of American citizenship is unnecessary and seeks to divide us. It simply creates another barrier to voting.

The SAVE Act and its more extreme versions — the SAVE America Act and MEGA Act — could keep millions of eligible U.S. citizens from being able to vote, severely restrict vote by mail, and increase federal control over state and local elections.

These bills include show-your-papers requirements that could exclude millions of eligible U.S. citizens from registering to vote if they don't have passports, access to their birth certificates, or if those documents do not reflect their name following a name change.

These bills also mandate faulty voter roll purges that threaten purges of eligible voters from the rolls without any required notice, limit access to vote by mail, impose criminal liability on election officials, and more.

These bills aren’t about safeguarding elections. They’re about silencing voters. We can't let these bills get any further: Tell Congress to reject these dangerous bills and protect our voting rights.
