Stop Camp Evictions

Join us in advocating to City Council and the Asheville City Manager and Assistant City Manager on behalf of homeless campers who are facing eviction in multiple camps in the midst of the pandemic. The Lexington Ave. Bridge Camp was given an eviction notice this morning (following eviction notices to Aston Park and Martin Luther King Park camps this past weekend).

It is our understanding that Asheville and Buncombe County are receiving $26 million dollars in funding in the latest pandemic relief bill, much earmarked to homeless services and affordable housing. The City is working on solutions and needs to also do the humane thing in the meantime and make sure that people who are unsheltered have what they need and are not displaced in the midst of this pandemic.
