Dental bill will impact already-hurting Ohioans

The Ohio House Insurance Committee is expected to vote on proposed Ohio House Bill 344 TOMORROW Wednesday, April 6, 2022. Your action is needed to stop this bill from moving to the full General Assembly! OCSEA members, as well as any Ohioans they know with dental insurance, are urged to write members of Ohio House Insurance Committee today and tell them to stop these costly regulation attempts once and for all.

OCSEA and your dental benefits administrator––the Union Benefits Trust (UBT)––continues to adamantly oppose this Ohio House legislation that prevents dental insurance providers from negotiating lower fees for non-covered services for their members. Proposed Ohio House Bill 344, if passed, would give dentists the ability to charge members more money for non-covered services. While this directly impacts OCSEA members who utilize UBT, ALL Ohioans with dental insurance would feel the financial strain that would come with this dangerous overreach.
