STOP SB 293: Protect Ohio Voters’ Right to Have Their Ballots Counted
Ohio lawmakers are again trying to make it harder for voters to have their voices heard. Senate Bill 293 would result in the elimination of thousands of legitimate absentee ballots simply because they arrive after Election Day, even if they were mailed on time.
Under current law, absentee ballots postmarked the day before Election Day are counted as long as they arrive within four days. SB 293 would eliminate those four days. That means that if the postal service delays your ballot by even one day, your vote will not count.
This change would disenfranchise seniors, voters with disabilities, rural voters, college students, and working families who rely on mail voting and drop boxes to make their voices heard.
Tell your state representative: Vote NO on Senate Bill 293.
Every Ohioan deserves to have their vote counted, not thrown out because of mail delays or limited access to drop boxes.
