As Ohioans, we are invested in having schools where professors are empowered to teach students about diverse and political concepts within the protections of academic freedom and critical discussion--- censoring curriculums and dictating how professors should be doing their jobs is not the answer, nor is erasing meaningful concepts like race, culture, and identity. SB 83 attacks and restricts diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, an important mechanism for mitigating discrimination and supporting underserved populations.
