Stop the One Lake Project! Save Our Water!

The One Lake Project is a project that claims to widen the Pearl River but in reality will increase flooding, lack of access to water, and inequality. Although its proponents claim that it has no negative flooding impacts, it fails to address flooding and sewage drainage along Town and Lynch Creeks. The One Lake Project may worsen flash flooding along these communities. Additionally, environmental impact studies state that this project would cause many toxic substances to be released into Jackson’s water supply and further stress Jackson’s already fragile water treatment and distribution system. Clean water is a human right and protected by law. This project is a direct threat to access to clean water and in direct conflict with the Clean Water Act, National Environmental Policy Act and the Safe Drinking Water Act.
