STOP the Trump Administration’s Attacks on Housing for Immigrant Families
This administration’s dismantling of the social safety net — slashing funding for health care and food assistance — has left working families paying more for basic needs, from rent to food to medical care. Now, the administration’s focus has turned to housing.
Trump’s Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is proposing a rule that would harm families and could push people into homelessness or force impossible choices. The rule, if adopted, would force mixed-status families — those with at least one family member who is a U.S. citizen or has an eligible immigration status — to choose between separation and receiving housing assistance.
But we have the power to push back and show the administration that the American people are paying attention, and our shared values call us to speak out and stand up for families in need.
