Stop Trump's Illegal Forever War with Iran
On February 28, Donald Trump and Bibi Netanyahu launched a massive unprovoked bombing campaign inside Iran.
In his statement, Trump said he started this war, and Americans are likely to die. "The lives of courageous American heroes may be lost, and we may have casualties. That often happens in war."
The Constitution requires Congress to declare war. Trump's war is therefore illegal.
It is also likely to be a "forever war" because Trump made clear he wants "regime change."
History is not on Trump's side. When nations are attacked and killed by foreigners, they inevitably rally behind their leaders - no matter how much they hate them.
And on day 1, US-Israeli bombs hit a girls' elementary school in Minab and killed at least 50 girls.
As we learned so painfully in both Vietnam and Iraq, killing people does not win their "hearts and minds" - it only hardens their resolve to fight back. That's what makes war so deadly and expensive.
Iran is a nation of 93 million people. When George W. Bush invaded Iraq, its population was only 26 million. Just six weeks after the invasion, Bush infamously declared "Mission Accomplished." Bush lied - Americans fought and died for another 8 years.
This week, Congress is likely to vote on a War Powers Resolution demanded by Democrats and a handful of constitutionalist Republicans.
Tell Congress to Stop Trump's Illegal Forever War with Iran.
