In August of 2024, residents of the Hollywood Arts Collective, a new affordable housing development, woke up to notices taped to their doors announcing a 7% increase of rent. This announcement comes after the building has scarcely more than a year of being open, and signals a concerning precedent for future rent increases. The residents of HWAC strongly oppose the increase, and demands TSA Properties and the Entertainment Community Fund to commit to true affordable housing for low-income artists.
