Stop WMODA in Downtown Lake Worth Beach

Rally in front on city hall building

TAKE ACTION: Tell the City, the CRA, and the United Management (WMODA) developers: Stop pushing overdevelopment and paid parking in downtown Lake Worth Beach.

Building another paid parking garage to help a wealthy developer is a bad plan for city residents and local businesses.

Elected officials and CRA staff have confirmed that moving forward with the WMODA development plan's subsidized parking garage on K Street will end free parking downtown, even though other more reasonable parking management options haven't been implemented.

As it stands, NYC developer/landlord Arthur Wiener of United Management is being subsidized by $19 million in public money and land for his apartment project, almost half of which is for the garage. And the vast majority of units won't even be affordable to current city residents. (Details of the plan can be found at LWBcandobetter.com)

Developer profits should not take priority over public interest.

Lake Worth Beach can do better than the Wiener Museum development plan (WMODA), and the premature push to paid parking proves it.

A development of this size, in this location, with so much public money, should be on the ballot.

No WMODA without a public vote!
