URGENT: Canada set to host headquarters of new war bank

News has just broken that Carney's plans to secure Canada as the permanent host of the global HQ of the new war bank (the DSRB) are falling in place – with Toronto the leading contender for host city.

This new financial institution, the first of its kind, is designed to fund and accelerate a global arms race and funnel public money directly to arms manufacturers.

Most Canadians have never heard of the new international war bank–the so-called Defence, Security and Resilience Bank (DSRB)--but this institution, dedicated to financing war, has been in the works for years and Canada is set to host the global headquarters.

At a time of a housing crisis, hosting the DSRB headquarters is guaranteed to drive up the cost of living dramatically. We reject Canada’s commitment to profiteering from perpetual war in the guise of economic development. We say NO to the war bank being headquartered in Canada.

The DSRB will funnel public funds directly to arms manufacturers, ensuring massive military build-up for 35 to 40 countries. It will make it easier to bypass regulations and public opposition to Canada’s military support for genocide and repressive regimes.
