Youth with disabilities have been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Legislation A1281/S905 will help to level the playing field by providing them with more time to file special education due process petitions related to COVID-19 school closures and periods of virtual, remote, hybrid, or in-person instruction receive.

The bills can be read by clicking on the links embedded in the bill numbers. The bills would allow children who had an IEP between 3/18/2020 and 9/1/2021 to schedule a meeting to arrange for compensatory services to make up for lost support during the height of the pandemic.
