Support Connecticut's Public Services

Over the last month, our local negotiations team reached a Tentative Agreement that our membership overwhelmingly ratified. We are excited to announce that our sister bargaining units throughout SEBAC have also all ratified their tentative agreements. But we are not over the finish line yet. The contracts now must go to the legislature for approval.

To make sure we can get approval efficiently before the end of the Legislative Session on May 6th with one legislative vote per chamber, all of the agreements have been combined together with a SEBAC Agreement that provides some win/win improvements for members, fixes a few misinterpretations of the prior agreement, and also provides savings for both members and the State.

This strategy does not impact our ratified bargaining unit agreement, but leverages our collective power through solidarity across SEBAC. So we’ll have one Appropriations Committee hearing, then one vote in each chamber and then we will all have achieved our contracts.

But, in order to get this done, we still need YOUR help! That means it’s all hands on deck. Legislators respond when they hear the personal stories of working people, like you! We need every member to contact their legislators and urge them to approve our contract to help protect public services and address the staffing crisis.

Remind your legislator that protecting our state’s excellent public services begins with supporting the selfless public servants who provide them.

After you submit the email, follow up with a phone call and leave a message at their office. Click here to look up the number for your local state legislator.
