Private Detention facilitates are not required to report critical incidents to WA State law enforcement agencies such as: Allegations of abuse or neglect Death; Suicide; Injuries resulting in an inpatient hospital stay; and Disruption of services through internal or external emergency or disaster;

HB 2464 would require that private detention facilities be required to report critical incidents to appropriate law enforcement agencies within 24 hours of the incident, as well as annual reports from law enforcement agencies on reports from detention facilities.

Private detention facilities want to hide the horrors that people face inside, people in detention deserve justice! Write to the WA House Community Safety Committee and tell them to vote YES on HB 2464 during its hearing on Monday, January 19th!
