Our PBOT members urgently need your help to save dozens of jobs. The City budget currently considered by Council will result in significant PBOT layoffs unless the Oregon Legislature acts immediately to pass a transportation funding increase. This week, the Oregon legislature introduced a transportation package (House Bill 2025) that would support safety improvements and the necessary maintenance that will save the lives of Oregonians on our roads. Furthermore, this package will save critically important jobs across Oregon’s state and local transportation agencies -- including the jobs of your colleagues and fellow PROTEC17 members at the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT).

However, this package is already facing stiff opposition. It is vitally important that we all contact our legislators to ask them invest in Oregon and save the jobs of transportation workers in PBOT and across the state.
