Support Paper Ballots and Hand-Count Votes
Dear Legislator,
The right to vote—and to have every vote counted accurately—is the last safeguard of our democracy. Voting and tabulation machines remain vulnerable to errors and manipulation that can go undetected, even on Election Day. This risk threatens the integrity of our elections and public trust in democratic institutions.
I urge you to support a California Constitutional Amendment requiring all elections to use hand-marked paper ballots, hand-counted in full public view under a nonpartisan process. This would eliminate electronic vulnerabilities, restore transparency, and ensure that every vote is seen, verified, and counted. One offline machine per polling place would remain available only for voters with disabilities, producing a verifiable paper ballot included in the hand count.
