Support Public Pension Divestment (H2640)
Massachusetts public pension funds (state and local) were valued at $74 billion in 2016, and despite the passage of the Climate Road Map earlier this year, current Massachusetts law prohibits public pensions divesting from fossil fuel companies. H2640 would change this and allow pension funds to invest consistent with the values of Massachusetts, using the investing power of that $74 billion for the good of the climate instead of its degradation. Use this letter writing tool to contact your state representative and them to cosponsor and work for passage of H2640.
