Support Reducing Virginia's Mixed Beverage Ratio
For 35 years, Virginia mixed beverage licensees have had their hands tied by a legislative compromise that leaves restaurants free to sell as much beer and wine as their customers wish to buy, but forces them to meet an arbitrary sales ratio target for liquor only. HB219 and SB488/489 would cut the required ratio from 45% to 25% and maintain the food service requirement, ensuring that Virginia restaurants stay restaurants. This common sense adjustment is long overdue, and the commonwealth's hospitality industry can't wait any longer for a repair.
