State lawmakers are more important than ever. States have the unique power to respond to this Trump terror campaign by passing state laws that increase our ability to protect our constituents under a hostile federal administration.
Legislators in Rhode Island must take an active role in shaping how immigration enforcement is carried out within our borders, against our communities. As federal agencies implement new strategies that violate civil rights, local authority, and transparency, Rhode Island lawmakers must pass legislation to clarify and shape the role it will play in immigration enforcement.
