I support the teachers of Poughkeepsie and their efforts to negotiate a new fair contract. Five full years without a new agreement is too long.

Teachers want what students need. The teachers of Poughkeepsie work hard to meet student needs, and they deserve a fair contract that reflects their hard work.

The residents and the voters of the City of Poughkeepsie deserve so much more from the District leadership. I stand in support with the teachers' union. It is time for the Board of Education and District Administration to respect the PPSTA members and settle the contract!
